StaRGB Joins the Starduino Family!

Today I’m excited to announce a variation on the Starduino: the StaRGB! It will use, as the name suggests, RGB LEDs to produce gentle, changing colors. The old circuit is capable of driving the new lights, though with only three positive leads and one common cathode, the Arduino can control things from afar (read: in the wall adapter box).

The StaRBG will feature fewer LEDs, placed strategically in the same type of Indian paper star lantern. It will have a total of 15 LEDs, each with three colors sinking 20mA for 60mA per LED, a total of 0.9A at 3V (2.7W), a very energy-efficient ornament!

I am currently trying to decide between making my own PCB or ordering through a manufacturer. Check in for updates soon.
